Wright Brothers Oyster House > Seafood & Surfboards in Soho
The weather has started to turn in London, and you couldn’t find a more perfect place in Soho to dive into after work for a cocktail, and to sample some of the best oysters you can find in the city. Last month I finally made it to Wright Brothers Soho with my friend Lucy of The Luxe Life as my guest.
Wright Brothers, part seafood wholesale company with an impressive portfolio of restaurants was established by brothers-in-law Ben Wright and Robin Hancock in 2002. Since then they have come to be recognised as one of the country’s finest specialist seafood wholesalers, supplying over 150 prominent restaurants and chefs across the UK. Their restaurants also serve the freshest fish and shellfish possible, all sustainably sourced and the majority from Cornish fishermen. With 4 locations to choose (3 in London) from in Spitalfields, Borough Market, Soho and the Helford Passage near Falmouth.

The restaurant has very recently opened their first private dining area, ‘The Cage’ is a semi-private dining room with a special, supersized industrial structure modelled on the lobster cages used by Wright Brothers on their own oyster farm. The cage walls can be folded into different configurations, creating either a more intimate dining party space for the evening, or opening up into more of a party space for drinks. Such a great design twist on a standard space.

We started off with a glass of my favourite Nyetimber English sparkling wine…
Rock Shrimp
Beef Tataki (absolute heaven on a plate…)
Salmon Ceviche
Mussels in a Penang curry sauce
Wagyu Steak
With barely any space for anything more, there was nothing better than a scoop of sorbet…
x2 Glasses of Nyetimber – £22, Strawberry Flute £5, Salmon Ceviche £8.50, Beef Tataki £9, Rock Shrimp £17, Wagyu Steak £26.50, Small Mussels £10.50, Fries £3.50, Sorbet £4, Chocolate Fondant £6 – Total = £126 inc Service.
Wright Brothers Soho is located at 13 Kingly Street, G7/G8 Kingly Court, London W1B 5PW
