LWSY London ~ The Landmark London
Experience London without breaking the bank, and book an overnight stay at The Landmark London.
Every now and then it’s a wonderful thing to weekend in your own city. I recently checked into The Landmark London just before Christmas for the weekend. A time when hotels in the capital glow with festive delight, it was the perfect time of year to see the hotel in all its glory.
The hotel is currently offering a ‘Capital Weekend’ package. A wonderful combination for your ideal hotel break in London, a spacious, luxurious room and a traditional English breakfast in the stunning Winter Garden restaurant.
They’ll even throw in a bottle of chilled Champagne that will be delivered to your room for that finishing touch of decadence. An overnight stay will also gain you access to the Spa & Health Club, so you can do what I did and rid yourself of the excesses of the night before by taking a dip in the pool and a quick sauna before breakfast. The offer starts at £275 inc VAT. Just contact the hotel and mention ‘Capital Weekend’. Offer subject to availability. Available on Friday to Sunday only.
London is unquestionably one of the most exciting cities in the world, and The Landmark London is in an ideal place to stay for convenient access to everything there is to see and do. We arrived from Baker Street underground station, the hotel is just 2 minutes walk away. The hotel connects directly to Marylebone Railway Station, so you’re in the heart of London. A short walk to the buzzy Marylebone High Street, Chiltern Street, and Oxford Street with excellent public transport links to take you east and west.
We checked in just after lunch on a Friday afternoon so arrived in perfect time for a Christmas inspired Afternoon Tea situated in the heart of the soaring eight-storey glass roof atrium. Renowned to be one of the finest in the capital, for £58.00 a champagne high tea will have you indulging in one of England’s finest traditions. Just make sure you skip lunch that day!
We delved into an assortment of sandwiches, freshly baked scones and French pastries accompanied by the hotels Christmas blend tea. You can even treat yourself to a selection of mouth-watering chocolate delights with their Chocolate Afternoon Tea.
The Winter Garden
Fast forward 2 hours and it was time for siesta. Checking into our 81 square metre Atrium Suite, with spectacular views of the hotel atrium. These classically decorated one-bedroom suites comprise of a comfortable living area separated from the bedroom by frosted glass French doors. A selection of sweet treats, a fruit plate, welcome note and a variety of glossy magazines offer you a living room you’ve no need to leave for the weekend.
The digital televisions are available in the living room and bedroom while a pristine white Italian marble bathroom with giant bath and separate shower finishes off this elegant suite.
Waking up with the Sunday papers hanging from our door, it was time to hit the pool before hitting breakfast. Etienne opted for a quick workout in the gym whilst he kept an eye on my laps in the pool.
The Winter Garden Breakfast is a wonderful affair. From 7am-11am daily the hotel offers a diverse menu offering an array of tantalizing delights for you to start your day. From freshly baked Danish pastries to an authentic traditional English breakfast, the chefs prepare eggs to your preference, and the tea selection is an absolute treat. There’s no need to rush the beginning of your weekend, so sit back, enjoy your breakfast, fuel up, and head out and explore my favourite city, my happy home, London.
