The Vegetable Slaughter House >>> The Butchers Daughter, Kenmare St, Nolita, NYC
The vegetable slaughter house, says it all doesn’t it. I popped into The Butchers Daughter across the street from the Nolitan
The Butcher’s Daughter was created and designed by founder Heather Tierney. Her design firm, Wanderlust designed the space as a pretty, feminine take on a old-world masculine butcher shop. Using industrial elements, concrete floors, steel meat hooks, heavy iron butcher rails against softer earthy materials like raw wood, white tiles and brick and greenery growing out of an old wire cages this is a local’s joint with buckets of charm.
The Butcher’s Daughter has won numerous awards for it’s unique concept, as well as the quality and creativity behind the food and juice menus. I opted for a simple juice, No.1, Anjou pear, beetroot and ginger with some avocado on toast. The perfect start to the day.
