Mordisco, Barcelona
A happy discovery when in Barcelona towards the end of last year. Mordisco, on Paseo de la Concepción is within walking distance of some key hotspots in Barcelona. Think Santa Eulalia, Casa Batllo & Casa Mila all within walking distance. Mordisco is also on the same street as Boca Grande (which you must check out if you are in town, there is a new one in Stockholm too). Back to the design, designed by the award winning Sandra Tarruella, also based in Barcelona, it is her studio that was comissioned by Grupo Tragaluz to create this laid back, lunch/dinner/deli style space with the best croquettes we tried during our week long trip. There are four key pieces of design here, Thonet 209 chairs (constructed using six bent pieces of beechwood) also Spanish brand Santa & Cole we called on to supply the white polypropylene & beech Belloch stacking chairs in the conservatory.

Inside this not so secret box, is the bathroom, complete with a hanging Mayday light by Konstanton Grcic for Flos. Bookmark this place for when you might next find yourself in Barcelona. We enjoyed a delicious quick pitstop lunch, but of you’re in a hurry, you can just grab something from the deli at the front of the restaurant.
