Blog: Alexandra Champalimaud at The Rug Company

The Rug Company

I was recently invited to a breakfast talk at the Kings Road branch of The Rug Company. Chris Sharp in conversation with interior designer Alexandra Champalimaud. A new collection of rugs designed by Champalimaud have recently been launched, & so The Rug Company invited the Bel Air Hotel interior designer over for breakfast to tell us all a little more about the inspiration behind her designs, projects and inspiration. One of her rugs, Stingray can be seen behind them above.

“I gravitate towards and am most inspired by the integrity and unpretentious style of patterns and designs that are centuries old. These two patterns were inspired by carved stones I found while travelling around India – I was enamoured by the intuitive nature of the carvings and the romantic, soulful and refined qualities that each possess.” Alexandra Champalimaud.
