Swarovski at Milan Design Week 2017
Atelier Swarovski Home returned to Milan Design Week for another year, showcasing exciting new collections of home accessories created in collaboration with the world’s leading design talents. Some you will recognise from my visit to Design Miami Basel last year (read here).
Atelier Swarovski is the ultimate creative expression of Swarovski crystal, offering cutting-edge jewellery, accessories and home decoration items. This year, the brand celebrates its 10th anniversary with a showcase of new collections from Atelier Swarovski Home appearing alongside the first Atelier Swarovski Fine Jewellery Collection and iconic archive jewellery at the Palazzo Crespi.
The range includes a series of colourful and sleek pure-crystal paper weights below by Studio Brynjar and Veronika, based on their 2016 Swarovski Designers of the Future presentation at Design Miami/ Basel, American interior design icon Barbara Barry’s series of multi-functional candle holders and vases in mellow hues, a multi-textured collection of boxes, trays and candle holders by New York architect Andre Kikoski, and a collection of turned oak accessories for an at-home bar created by LA- based designer Greg Lynn.
Following the success of his modular vase from Atelier Swarovski Home’s debut collection, Aldo Bakker returns with a series of bottle stoppers and playful paper weight lenses. Also collaborating with Atelier Swarovski Home for a second time, Tomás Alonso has created an evolution of his original collection of contemporary trays, featuring his signature colour play.
You can shop part of the Swarovski Home Collection at Amara.com, the items presented in Milan will be available from Autumn 2017.
