MY PARIS // BHV, The Basement, 53 rue de Rivoli, 75003
One of my most frequented stores, BHV (Bazaar of the Hotel du Ville where the store is located) is my absolute haven for everything to do with our home. When I first moved to Paris I was pretty much there on a daily basis, and the basement is where all the goodies are. Think B&Q crossed with the most carefully curated hardware store filled with beautiful brass wall hooks, lighting fixtures and electric cables in every colour imaginable.
As you walk in on ground level BHV is more a John Lewis style department store, from the basement up, Bricolage is where you’ll find me. Head to the 2nd floor for kitchen supplies and dried deli style foods, it wouldn’t be Paris without an eclair or macaroon store in the kitchen dept. The third floor is filled with design brands such as HAY, AM.PM, and a pretty mega lighting department with every lightbulb you could ever wish for.
So next time you’re in Paris and you’re on a photoshoot, scouting, need superglue, a screwdriver, power drill, pot of paint, BHV is your place.
