LWSY London / Weekending at Soho Hotel, London
If you live in London you’re not hard pressed to find a Firmdale hotel close by. One of my favourite hotel brands, Kit Kemp truly upped the interior design of hotels game with her collection of incredibly bold and personalised spaces.
With ten hotels in London and New York and a very special location in Sandy Lane, Barbados, each and every hotel has it’s own magical design.
We checked into The Soho Hotel at very late notice recently on a fly-by trip to London. Using our trusty hotel app, Hotel Tonight, we scored the most epic suite at literally a fraction of the cost. We arrived at around 8pm, with a quick turnaround to get to an event, but it didn’t stop us from soaking up every inch of the hotel in the short time we were there.
There are 91 individually designed bedrooms and suites and the hotel is situated on a quiet street in the heart of Soho. It’s surrounded by some of London’s best restaurants and bars, vibrant cafes and most exciting theatre and nightlife. Regardless of me having lived in London for over 10 years, it was still such a buzz to be sleeping in Soho for the night.
Easy like Sunday morning… Literally one of the things I miss the most about London on a weekend, The Sunday Times!
Some shots now of some areas of the hotel I loved. Kit Kemp has curated an incredible collection of art which you are free to wonder up to and peruse. There are two living room style spaces in the hotel reserved for hotel guests only. Think giant sofas, all the papers you need, and each with an honesty bar to save you looking around for a waiter to make you that G&T you keep thinking about.

For such a short overnight stay, my absolute lasting memory is of the epic breakfast. Not just because the restaurant is so beautiful but the breakfast menu offers just about everything you could want on a Sunday morning.
Note to self: I must get into the habit at staying at some more Firmdale Hotels soon…
